It all started in 1983 when Brian decided to strike off to Billings Montana to attend the Western college of Auctioneering and learn how to become an auctioneer. Shortly upon his return from Montana he and his wife Heather held their very first auction sale in Lennoxville Qc for Mr. John Rose and BSB Auction Services was in business. Then in 1986 after a sudden loss of full time employment he headed to the big city (Montreal) and began his new career as a car auctioneer for the Canadian Auction Group. His passion for antiques and his natural ability to deal with people in a friendly, professional and honest manner led to more customers and more consignments for auction sales. Luckily, helping every step of the way, was his wife Heather who handled the accounting & administrative side of the business and who equally shared a passion for antiques and dealing with the public. But Brian & Heather could not have had the success they did without the support and hard work from their close friends/employees who largely remain the same people working at the auction sales to this day.

Years went by and auctions of all shapes and sizes were conducted, meanwhile Brian & Heather enjoyed every minute of it, while raising their  2 children in the world of auctions. While both their son and daughter became involved in their auction business, it was their son Stephen who discovered at an early age that he too shared the same passion for auctioneering. In 1998 he followed in his father's footsteps, and at the age of 18 headed to Billings Montana to attend the same school Brian had years before. When Stephen graduated Champlain college the next year with a degree in Business administration, there was little doubt in his parents' minds about which direction he was headed in... auctions. Stephen soon after began travelling with Brian into Montreal to work at the car auctions while helping and becoming increasingly involved in the small family run auction business in Richmond. Then in 2006 Stephen was married to Genevieve Manseau and started a new career with Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, the largest unreserved equipment auction company in the world. Stephen enjoyed 14 years with RBA allowing him to travel extensively to locations all around the world to conduct equipment auctions. Through those years, an unwavering commitment to the small business his parents created kept BSB Auction Services alive & well. 2021 marked the year that Stephen and Genevieve decided to grow BSB through more regular online and live auctions. While the second generation now assumes the lion's share of the preparation and pre-sale leg work, Brian & Heather are still involved and continue their lifelong passion for the auction way of life.

L’aventure a débuté en 1983 alors que Brian décide de se rendre à Billings au Montana pour étudier au Western College of Auctioneering pour devenir encanteur. Dès son retour, Brian et sa femme Heather tiennent leur tout premier encan à Lennoxville, Qc pour M. Jon Rose; les Services d’encan BSB démarraient officiellement. Puis en 1986, après la perte de son emploi de longue date, Brian débute sa carrière comme encanteur de voitures pour le Canadian Auction Group en voyageant à Montréal plusieurs fois par semaine. Sa passion pour les antiquités et son habileté naturelle à travailler avec le public de façon amicale, professionnelle et honnête poussent de plus en plus de gens à lui faire confiance en vendant leurs biens à l’encan. Bien sûr, impliquée dans cette aventure depuis le tout début, sa femme Heather partage la passion des antiquités et du travail avec le public. Celle-ci s’occupe de tout le côté administratif de la compagnie. Mais, Brian et Heather n’auraient pas pu avoir un tel succès sans le travail et le support continu de leurs employés et amis qui sont toujours sensiblement les mêmes personnes après toutes ces années.

Les années ont passées et des encans de tous genres se sont déroulés tandis que Brian et Heather élèvent leurs deux enfants dans le monde des encans. Sans grande surprise, leur garçon et leur fille s’impliquent tous les deux rapidement dans l’entreprise familiale. Mais, c’est leur garçon Stephen qui découvre dès un jeune âge qu’il partage la même passion que ses parents pour les encans. En 1998, à l’âge de 18 ans, il suit dans les traces de son père et part à Billings au Montana pour étudier à la même école que Brian. Alors qu’il gradue du programme administratif au Collège Champlain l’année suivante, il est assez évident pour tous que Stephen se dirige vers une carrière dans le monde des encans. Quelques temps plus tard, il commence à travailler à Montréal aux encans d’automobiles avec son père Brian tout en devenant de plus en plus impliqué dans l’entreprise familiale à Richmond. En 2006, année de son mariage à Geneviève Manseau, Stephen débute une carrière avec Ritchie Brothers Auctionneers, la plus grosse compagnie d’encan de machinerie sans réserve au monde. Pendant 14 ans, cet emploi amène Stephen à voyager autour du monde pour faire des encans. Mais pendant toutes ces années, son attachement et son engagement envers la compagnie fondée par ses parents gardent les Services d’encan BSB fort. 2021 a marqué l'année où Stephen et Geneviève décident faire grandir la compagnie en tenant plus régulièrement des encans criés et en ligne. Même si maintenant, la deuxième génération d'encanteur assure la préparation des encans, Brian et Heather sont toujours impliqués et continuent ainsi leur passion de toute une vie pour le monde des encans.
